Short-term residence – first application

Single-entry visa fee receiptFor visa-free arrivals applying for the first time and for overstays

Proof of meansIncome document or declaration for your stay
Proof of addressNotarised rental contract, title deed with address record, hotel or dormitory letter, or notarised undertaking

Renewal application formFilled in on e-İkamet and signed
Passport copyValid at least 60 days beyond the requested period
2 biometric photosLast 6 months, white background
Fee and card payment receiptsFee-exempt nationalities pay the card fee only
Health insuranceCovering the new period
Residence certificateCurrent one from e-Devlet, plus an electricity, water or gas bill
Proof of where you stayNotarised rental contract, title deed, dormitory letter or notarised undertaking
UETS addressFrom PTT main branches; not required under 18

Sponsor’s criminal recordFrom e-Devlet if in Türkiye for the last 5 years
Health insurance for the whole familyCovering the permit period
Proof of address and UETSUETS is required for renewals and transfers

Balance sheet and P&LLast year, certified by the tax office or a sworn accountant
Passport copySworn translation if not in Latin script; passports valid under 60 days are not accepted
DiplomaWith sworn translation; household work needs only a last-school declaration
Residence permit for applications in TürkiyeValid at least 6 months
Sector documentsMinistry of Education, Provincial Health Directorate or tourism licence, by sector

Good to know

Residence appointments are free on e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr; ignore anyone who charges for an appointment.
The provincial migration office may ask for extra information or documents.
Documents from abroad need an apostille and a notarised Turkish translation; without an apostille, consular approval is required.
Applications for children may need a birth certificate, custody papers or a consent letter.
A residence permit does not give the right to work; a separate work permit is needed.
